We’re Focused on What Matters Most Right Now in Brevard’s Space Coast

At the Junior League of South Brevard we live in the moment. To us, that means adjusting our focus according to our community’s most pressing needs. Our work is always evolving, and that keeps us on our toes, striving for progress, and preparing to take on whatever comes next.

Our current community goal of Improving Children’s Health Through Nutrition and Physical Activity can be achieved by doing Done in a Day (DIAD) / Done in your Seat (DIYS) events, and our current community projects, Kids in the Kitchen and Girl POWER. Our Community Research/Project Development (CRPD) is currently meeting to discuss better ways to serve our local community. Our goal is to help Brevard County women develop civic leadership skills through the work they do, then put those talents to work in the communities that need it. Our current focus of Improving Children’s Health Through Nutrition and Physical Activity gives women opportunities to grow, while positively impacting the communities where they live and work.

We’re Creating Fulfilling Leadership Opportunities Throughout Brevard County

The Junior League of South Brevard offers so much more than local volunteering opportunities! Our League of leaders creates real change by advancing social activism-focused projects that directly benefit the communities of Brevard County. By giving women the tools to lead, educating them about their communities’ needs, and helping them put their unique brand of creativity and skill to work, JLSB is making a big impact on Florida’s Space Coast.

We’re Transforming Brevard County Communities By Challenging the Status Quo

No matter what we’re currently focusing on, JLSB’s work centers around improving our local communities through effective action and leadership. We have identified children’s health and nutrition as the most pressing issue in our community right now, and we are helping local women take action to resolve it. So far this year, we have two community projects, Girl POWER and Kids in the Kitchen.

Girl POWER Consists of free workshops intended to provide young women ages 14-18 years old in Brevard with the necessary life skills needed to build and maintain a healthy lifestyle, both mind and body.

Kids in the Kitchen Consists of two free events—Cooking with Mrs. Claus in the fall and an expo style event in the spring—and teaches the importance of healthy living to children and their families who participate in the event.
